J. Ryan Burke, M.D.
Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery
A native of Ocala, Fla., J. Ryan Burke, M.D., graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia in 1995 with a bachelor’s of science in zoology.
Dr. Burke earned his doctor of medicine and completed his general surgery residency, serving as chief resident from 2003-2004, at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Following his residency, Dr. Burke remained at Emory to complete his fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery from 2004 to 2007, serving as chief resident in 2006. During his fellowship, Dr. Burke specialized in endovascular surgery. He joined Carolina Cardiac Surgery Associates in 2007.
His clinical interests include open and endovascular aortic repair, valve surgery and off-pump coronary surgery.
Dr. Burke is a member of CTSNet-Cardiothoracic Surgery Network. He has authored articles for Blood and the Annals of Thoracic Surgery.
Dr. Burke enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His hobbies include running, golf and water sports.
