Scott J. Petit, M.D.
Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery
A native of Luling, LA, Scott J. Petit, M.D., graduated
from Louisiana State University in 1989 with a bachelor of science
in zoology. He earned a doctor of medicine from Louisiana State University
School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Petit completed his internship and residency in general surgery
at Emory University in Atlanta, serving as chief resident from 1997
to 1998. He also completed a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship and
residency at Emory before joining Carolina Cardiac Surgery Associates
in 2001.
His clinical interests are minimally invasive cardiac and thoracic
surgery and thoracoscopic sympathectomy.
Dr. Petit is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons, as well
as the American College of Chest Physicians. He is a member of the
Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the Southern Thoracic Surgical
Association.
Dr. Petit is married with four children. He and his family enjoy
outdoor activities, woodworking, hunting and travel.
