Reid W. Tribble, M.D.

Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery
A Columbia, SC, native, and son of a surgeon, Reid W. Tribble, M.D., graduated from Clemson University in 1982 with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. He earned his doctor of medicine and completed his general surgery internship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC.

Following his residency in general surgery at Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC, he chose to specialize further. Dr. Tribble completed a residency in thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville, VA. He joined Carolina Cardiac Surgery Associates in 1995.

Dr. Tribble is the leading thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic surgeon in the Midlands. He has experience with all open aortic surgical procedures as well as thoracic and abdominal aortic stent graft operations. Mitral valve repair, mitral annular reconstruction, and peripheral vascular surgery are other areas of special interest.

Dr. Tribble is a fellow in the American College of Surgeons and a member of the South Carolina Vascular Surgical Society, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and Southern Thoracic Surgical Association.

Dr. Tribble is married with five children. He and his family enjoy time with extended family in a variety of activities, including water sports at Lake Murray. His personal interests include bicycling and tinkering with his 1966 Mustang that he has owned since he was 14.
